The procedure to get Birth Certificate starts with the search of Deaths and Births records at concerned Municipality office based on the place of birth and applicant’s date of birth. The search is required to find whether the birth is registered at the Municipality office or not. If the birth was registered with a name, then the Birth Certificate will be issued by as per the details available in the records of the Municipality office. However, if the birth was registered without name then the name would be recorded by submitting a name inclusion form along with an affidavit from parents/relative and copies of the school certificates (X or XII), residence proof of parent/applicant and the applicant’s valid passport for additional fee.

If the birth took place in India and was not registered within one year or it was actually registered but the the registration records is not available due to any reason, then we first apply for Non Availability of Birth Certificate from that concerned department.
However, sometimes government authorities refuse to write the Non Availability of Birth Certificate because of many reasons such as they have no authority or no evidence that the birth of a particular person actually happened within that municipal area. In that case we file an application with First Class Magistrate to get Birth Registration order. The Magistrate then Review that application and order concerned municipal authority to register birth. Then we apply for Birth Certifiable and get that certificate.
