As part of our Online Services, we obtain death certificates for deaths that occurred in India.
A death certificate in India is a government-issued document stating the date, fact, and cause of death. Registering a death is essential — it relieves the deceased of social, legal, and official obligations, enables settlement of property inheritance, and authorizes the family to collect insurance and other benefits. We search the relevant Municipality office, based on the place and date of death, to find the registration record.
The death certificate is obtained from the Death and Birth Registration office covering the place of death, and delivered anywhere in India by courier; delivery outside India is available for an extra shipping charge.
