How to Register a Charitable Society
As part of our 'NGO Support Services' we assist to register the register the Charitable Organization under the Society Registration Act, India and the registered Non-Governmental organization would be a 'Society' for all legal purposes.
Like other forms of Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), the Charitable Organization under the Society Registration Act is also an independent legal entity. In general, officers are not personally liable for the Society's acts. However, they are liable in their respective official capacities.
We provide registration service for two types of Non-Governmental Organization (NGOs). One is State Level and another is All India Level. The only difference between them is the working area of Organization. Unlike all India level Society a state level organization is restricted to carry out its function only in one state. It can acquire land and operate bank accounts only in one state.
Requirements for Charitable Organization under the Society Registration Act
- A suitable name for organization.
- Ten initial members to form the organization.
- Selection of three Members for President, Treasurer, Secretary.

The estimated time for completion depends on the place of registered office. In major cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, and Chennai, it typically takes 3-4 Months. Smaller cities may require additional time, while remote areas may experience even longer processing times.
